197 - The Delta Ray Buggy

The original idea to build a TA01 based car fast and rough is gone from months, I'm working hard to end the build of a never existed car following the concept that inspired the Yokomo Hot Dog 4: a mesh between a touring car and a competition 4wd buggy.

A better painted body is hard needed but I love this more boxy shaped one.

A sheet of stickers is already waiting for the body, the last step of a build that is taking almost 3 years.

A view of the layout that underlines the concept under this car: on road DNA hybridated with off road DNA.

Definitive ESC...

... and definitive motor: a refurbished 13x2 Peak!

I feel better when using Tamiya original option parts.

The paint scheme needs to be revised but I love this color choice!

A view of the definitive wiring.

196 - 2021 Holidays

No matter if rain or sun, holidays have been mostly dedicated to charge our batteries for the upcoming months: several refreshing glasses have been drunk in good fellowship, some good cheeses discovered and our spare time have been satisfly and slowly spent.

Time has been spent in the attempt of disintegrating Wild One transmission...

... mission accomplished!

195 - Ready For Holidays

Well, with the stuff received today I've updated as planned my Wild One and to me it look awesome! Pink wheels, made by Jc Racing Products, have been chosen in honor of Mr. Masami Hirosaka (that used pink wheels on his racing buggies) and in memory of my Yokomo Works 91 I've sold as an Idiot.

Car have been also updated with Schumacher tires to reach a mix between a scale buggy and a racing buggy that I like and that I've seen years ago on time-tunnel.jp

following my campaign of elimination of every "made in china" stuff from my cars I've swapped the cheap esc chosen years ago for this car with a solid Robitronic Speedstar 2 Esc that I well know.

Before...

... and after!

My Wild One also benefits of its new Tamiya Super Stock BZ motor updated with bearings instead of bushings.

The new motor is equipped with Carson steel pinion to improve reliability.

To avoid problems unis have been secured using a ring of heat shrink.

Jc Racing wheels are modern tires with hexes and to use them an adapter is needed. Jc Racing Products sells a 3d printed one that is very well made, precise and not grainy as many 3d parts available on the Web. (sorry for bad pic)
