A day trip at Misurina lake (over 1700 mt on sea level).

The body I ruined the evening before.

136 - Masking & Painting

During the last week, awaiting for the parts needed to complete the chassis, I've applied some coats of liquid mask on the inside of the body.
First coat,

second coat

and third coat.

The idea was to coat both the painted and the unpainted parts and after to remove the mask from black parts to complete the black coating before the white. Unfortunately the black paint sprayed by the previous owner was a thick layer that stiffened the liquid mask and it flakes when removed.

Before making trash of my Yota body I decide to apply 3 or 4 more coats of mask only over the already black parts: it worked! Removing the mask became easier and I can go on with the paint work.

135 - Hi-Lux Updates

This week I decided to anticipate the weekly update of my blog (every friday, if possible) because tomorrow I wannt ti observe a day of silence in memory of Mr. oOple: Jimmy Storey that passed away some days ago. Tomorrow is the day of his service. I have to say that I'm not a daily user but a frequent lurker that appreciate the oOple vision of this hobby and the funny reports made by Jimmy.

This week I've completed the rear end with the installation of a LRP motor (I've planned to swap it with a Dirt Tuned ASAP) and with the rest of suspension's links. After this I've placed the electronic on its tray as shown by the mess of cables. Awaiting the decisions about dampers and universals I've stripped off some of the old paint from the body.

134 - The Slow Growth Of My Monster Racer

I must confess that I'm slowing down the refurb of my Monster Racer for the only reason to retard new money exits.
This week I've completed the front end (including minor upgrades) and I've started the rear. It's, more or less, only cleaning, polishing and swapping some screws. Pure relax!

Front end complete! New bearings in evidence.

New adjustable turnbuckles

The shiny rear end. I rebuilt the diff and ugraded to aluminum transmission's posts.
