352 - Revamps

My BBX revamping have been complete swapping the KO ESC I've fried this summer with one the Robitronic Speedstar 2 I own and installing the body I've refreshed using a fluo lining tape.

Installing the Robitronic ESC hasn't been much easy because its dimensions that, in height, fullfill the ESC cover. I've also made an extension for battery's cables to make connection and disconnection easier, this time I'haven't soldered it but I've used bullet connectors between ESC and extensions.

I've also removed the driver figure that were awfully painted to finally give to my BBX a driver figure painted as the one in my Wild One.

This summer I've bought a pair of 4000 mAh LRP powerpacks to replenish my battery equipment, its forming charge didn't went well and, at the end, the charger display showed a disappointing 2700/2800 mAh. The charger I've used was my Yuki Model Nighthawk Karate Monkey... not a great buoght so far.

Yesterday, in the attempt to give it a push to its full capacity, using my Yokomo Yz-114 Plus (the best battery charger I've never owned) it set a sigle cycle: 1C discharging and 0,5c of charging and I reach the decent result of 3900 mAh. 

351 - Improving My BBX's Livery

This summer, after many years in the hobby, I've found a combination of colours that I really like with the body paint of my Ultima SB.

Considering that my BBX body isn't much vibrant I've decided to try to revitalize with a yellow fluo lining tape.

350 - Minor (but Important) Works

I've rescued the Robitronic Speedstar 2 from my Tamiya Rm01: it's the one with its case broken that inspired me to build from scratch a new box.

I've blowed with a blower and sprayed the bare electronics to clean and to preserve it in the wait for a brand new case.

Meanwhile one of my power packs have been cycled using my Yokomo Yz 114 Plus charger that allowed me to did the work in some hours instead of in half a day, I understood the importance to own a good charger to take care of batteries. Using my other charger (a Yuki Model bought in emergency) I ruined two other packs that I will try to rescue with the Yz 114.

349 - Being a Modeller

About the idea to 3d print a spare case for one of mine Speedstar 2 ESC I have to confess that it isn't my cup of tea. I'm a 50yo modeller not a CAD designer or a kind of young gun of this hobby so I will take the old school way: I will build it from scratch with my bare hands.

Yesterday I've bought some styrene sheet and a proper glue to build a master, than I will make a mold with silicone and than I hope to have the two halves of a case pouring the right amount of the right resin into the mold. This is what a modeller do in the good old days: use his brain and his hands.

348 - The Missing Tile In My Yokomo Wing Mosaic

 

Some days ago a blinking notify from Ebay warned me about a new "Yokomo Wing motor" on sale. I've checked if it was about the Wing that could complete my Yokomo Wing motors collection, Bingo! A Wing Stock BG/15T.

You know fellas, it's almost Christmas time, Yokomo is in my heart from ages, from two or three years I'm trying to complete the Wing motors line up... so clicking on the "Buy Now" button has been as starting the Christmas bells ringing.

The seller claims to be from Japan, the delivery times are quite long so the purchased motor will take until the beginning of 2026 to arrive here in Veneto, finger crossed.

Can't wait to have it in my hands and to find a way to display it with its brothers.
