196 - 2021 Holidays

No matter if rain or sun, holidays have been mostly dedicated to charge our batteries for the upcoming months: several refreshing glasses have been drunk in good fellowship, some good cheeses discovered and our spare time have been satisfly and slowly spent.

Time has been spent in the attempt of disintegrating Wild One transmission...

... mission accomplished!

195 - Ready For Holidays

Well, with the stuff received today I've updated as planned my Wild One and to me it look awesome! Pink wheels, made by Jc Racing Products, have been chosen in honor of Mr. Masami Hirosaka (that used pink wheels on his racing buggies) and in memory of my Yokomo Works 91 I've sold as an Idiot.

Car have been also updated with Schumacher tires to reach a mix between a scale buggy and a racing buggy that I like and that I've seen years ago on time-tunnel.jp

following my campaign of elimination of every "made in china" stuff from my cars I've swapped the cheap esc chosen years ago for this car with a solid Robitronic Speedstar 2 Esc that I well know.

Before...

... and after!

My Wild One also benefits of its new Tamiya Super Stock BZ motor updated with bearings instead of bushings.

The new motor is equipped with Carson steel pinion to improve reliability.

To avoid problems unis have been secured using a ring of heat shrink.

Jc Racing wheels are modern tires with hexes and to use them an adapter is needed. Jc Racing Products sells a 3d printed one that is very well made, precise and not grainy as many 3d parts available on the Web. (sorry for bad pic)

194 - Simple Upgrade

With the planned target to turn my Wild One more in a more efficient and durable car I've decided to make a simple upgrade to its new BZ motor I've purchased weeks ago. I've switched the stock bronze bushings to a pair of new ball bearings.

Of course a little gain in terms of rpm have been done but I'm not in the condition to check it so I will be settle by the increase of durability.

193 - Thinking About Holidyas

Summer is upcoming but fortunately air is still fresh avoiding heat during the day. I don't like summer but our summer holidays in the green of mountains are long waited during the year to recharge. This year I will carry a Tamiya to have some fun and for first I was thought about the Stadium Blitzer but finally I've decided to carry my beloved Wild One.

It need some attentions to be ready and for first I've bough a motor to replace the good old Sport Tuned, a Super Stock BZ not with the power in mind but with the idea to use on this car a rebuildable motor.

Some oder upgrades have been purchased and some are going to be but keeping this car simple and durable.

192 - Becoming A Motor Master... No, Not Really!

Gosh, it's a long time that I do not update my blog! I guess that mostly depend by the fact that is a long time I don't grab a screwdriver to build a new car or to take care of one of my Tamiyas and by the fact that my TA project has reached the building step I like less: masking and painting the body (I get my best results painting buggies bodies).

However RC never leaves my thoughts and I've spent this months in deeping my poor knowledges about brushed motor (that I love mosty of every vintage RC stuff) and purchasing some new and used motors to widen my little collection.

This brand new LRP is destinated to my TA01 project

A Yokomo Wing 4 motor... I forgot turns 😅

This magnificent Cam Super Modified, it's supposed to be a 12 turns

Last but not least this unknown Parma Yokomo Modified

Of course every motor I buy could be used in one of my cars but some of my recent additions need a lot of love to perform well again so I've surfed the Web (www.rc10talk.com mainly) looking for infos to take care of them. Surprisingly between adding motors to my collection and looking for information I've found a comm lathe at a bargaing price (considering the price I've seen around the Web) So I could not resist!

It's a Trinity Tru-Lathe and I got it for a very low bucks

The search of tips and trick made me understand the importance of a took I've ignored the existence till today: a brush hood alignement tool... and of course I've bought one.

It works both for stand-up and laydown brushes hood
